The Worldwide Jericho Walk Mission is to provide urban communities with positive programs and events that connect and foster collaborative efforts among community leaders to stop community violence and injustice, improve socio-economic and environmental conditions, and strengthen community resiliency by using a holistic approach to “tear down walls and build new bridges,” between families and the clinical, spiritual, mental, and social service resources they need to improve their quality of life.

Jericho Walk's message is also internationally known and has impacted and unified communities around the world in places such as Italy, Korea, Jerusalem, Africa, China, Alaska, and Canada just to name a few.

Past endorsers and participants have included: Former Chicago Mayor, Richard M. Daley, former President of Ghana, West Africa, Jerry J. Rawlins, the late Coretta Scott King, former Vice President Al Gore, former President Barack Obama, Reverend Jesse Jackson, Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, Ms. Moon and the late Rev. Moon of the American Clergy Leadership Council, and the late Bishop M. L. and Beatrice Crawford of Church of the Living God just to name of the few.

Participation in the 23rd Annual Jericho Walk and Spirit Festival will greatly enhance our goal of  “tearing down walls and building new bridges”, as we work on developing major projects that provide holistic focused resources to benefit the Englewood community and surrounding neighborhoods in the City of Chicago despite the existing violence, neighborhood deterioration and high unemployment rate.

Funds raised by the Jericho Walk in past years have gone towards providing school supplies and scholarships for the youth, feeding and clothing neighborhood families, transportation assistance for families to and from social and clinical services, after school programs and childcare for families in need,  connecting families to holistic services and resources, as well as, relief efforts for those affected by natural disasters.  We are also proud of our efforts in Ghana, West Africa, where we have supported clinics located in villages with supplies and medication for various diseases.
